While it is true that ‘.e learn and develop throughout our lives, it is during childhood that we learn the most essential things and develop the most important qualities of our characters. Therefore, I believe that the years from birth to age twelve are the most important years of a person’s life. The following are my reasons.

First, it is during childhood that our basic characters are formed. The values that we are taught and the experiences we have at that time will affect us for the rest of our lives. If we learn the value of kindness and honesty at an early age, we will likely be kind and honest adults. Second, when we are children we are very impressionable. Whatever we are exposed to during these years will have a great effect on us. Therefore, it is important to take care with a child’s education. Third, children are more adaptable and open to new ideas than adults. Once we have developed certain traits in our childhood, it is difficult to change them when we are adults. And it is at this time that we are most open to new ideas and new ways of thinking. Our vision of the world, once formed, is also difficult to change.

Given these reasons, there is no doubt that the childhood years are very important. They are the time when our basic character and beliefs are formed. A person’s experience and education during these years will affect him all his life.
