The Northeast Monsoon season arrives in our country at the end of each year. This is the time when we get a lot of rain. Most times we get so much rain that many parts of the country are flooded.
Floods cause inconvenience and hardship to the people. Roads are closed, communications interrupted and effected people evacuate to higher ground. There are some unfortunate people who are swept away by the raging waters and thus lose their lives.
If the floods get worse, crops are destroyed, house crumble and many people reduced to poverty.
Still, life goes on, the floods recede in time and the people resume their normal living
