It was past midnight and I was attracted by shouting which was followed by cries of distress. I did not want to lose the opportunity of seeing a big fire and so without wasting time, I ran towards the place. When I reached the place, I saw a rubber factory on fire like a huge ball. By now a big crowd had gathered and nobody cared to do anything but to express sorrow.

Few minutes later, four fire engines arrived at the scene, and before their arrived, the fire had already gutted the nearby attap huts. It was a spectacle which I could not easily forget. I saw fear and panic reigning among the victims. Most of them were standing and looking at the fire with all the meager personal effects they could carry.

Soon afterward buses and vans arrived at the spot to carry the victims. They housed in a welfare- Rome in the nearby city.
